An Yvonne Okoro's movie : Contract review

The Africa society is plagued with some cultural issues which have over the year transcended into unethical gender imbalances especially as most people crave the western ways of life. This movie Contract shows some evidence of this.

To briefly narrate the sequence; this is about a man whom in his quest to find the woman who will take his money, have his child and disappear, Peter begins a roller coaster, contracted relationship with Abena Boateng, a crude but clever local girl who is anything but impressed with Peter's affluence.

Just when we felt Ghanaian movies had clocked their optimum of surprises, Contract says not yet! Ghanaian actress; Yvonne Okoro revived our hibernated minds with the release of her new movie-Contract, directed by the multiple award-winning Director - Shirley Frimpong Manso. This is a Sparrow Production joining forces with Yvonne Okoro. It is no doubt we have something to forwards to this festive season with African movies.

This movie is certainly rich with transparent and exciting comedy, but at the same time concentrating its core story to the modern factual society issues; giving a lot to laugh about.

‘Contract’ as said earlier is an Yvonne Okoro movie, starring South Africa’s Hlomla Dandala of Jacob’s cross fame, Nigerian sensation Joseph Benjamin, Yvonne Okoro herself and several other talented actors.

It narrates the story of a “successful Businessman Peter Poplampo, the ultimate alpha male who is 40 years old, rich, and a bachelor. Despite his mother’s persistent attempt to find him a woman, Peter sticks to his rule of non-committal casual dates, freedom and being in control of his life until a yearning to have a child arises. We will leave the rest to be discovered when it premieres this month.
